All Club — the spiritual successor to The Shelter and one of Shanghai's key spaces for underground and alternative electronic music — is shutting down operations at its current location. The announcement was quietly wrapped into a WeChat post for their 8th anniversary party, taking place August 8–10, featuring a stacked lineup of familiar faces and longtime collaborators.
No official reason was given, and the wording leaves the door open for a future revival in a new space. For now, though, this marks the end of an era at 17 Xiangyang Bei Lu where All has been running since 2017.
With recent closures of other mainstays like Elevator, Heim, System, and Abbyss, it's been a tough year for Shanghai's alternative club scene. All Club was one of the last big names still standing.
Final chance to dance is coming up fast. Pre-sale tickets for the anniversary nights are 80rmb.
